Written in Concrete™ documents line dance culture through an urban lens. It is rooted in the DMV and follows the dance through the Mid-Atlantic and beyond: the creators, the instructors, the DJs, the venues, the communities, the memory, and the way a dance travels from one floor to the next.
Who made the dance? Who taught it? Which places and people helped it travel? We follow those questions while the memories are still close, giving the people who carry the culture a place in its record.
